Soon... soon we will know where we stand. From there we can move forward.

Hello Everyone,

Sometimes, you sit down to write, best intentions and all, only to run into a block of some sort.

Creative drought, writer’s block, lack of energy—it’s all the same. It usually boils down to not knowing where to start, which keeps you from being able to move forward. Once you finally figure out where to begin, it should be smooth sailing from there.

Every industry has these kinds of blocks. Some are regulatory, others are economic or societal, and some have the unfortunate distinction of being all of the above.

I’m not struggling with a block today because I know exactly where I’m starting from.

What looms, however, is a potential block for a significant number of us—not one I feel is insurmountable, but one where we don’t quite know where to start yet. Once Trump takes office again, we’ll find out where we stand.

The days of wild speculation over tariffs and treaties are drawing to a close, and in a way, that brings me some level of comfort.

While these tariffs and other threats give me pause, I possess an unshakable belief in Canadian innovation and our ability to find clever, profitable paths out of whatever spot we find ourselves in.

We just need to know where we’re starting from. From there, we’ll figure it out.

6 days, 2 hours to go.
