Drill, baby, Drill // Keystone XL // 200% tariffs... what a week!
Hello Everyone,
It always strikes me as interesting when we see the changes that take place out of necessity and I think we’ll start to see some of that rapidly shaping up.
This week has been filled with the promise of the return of the Keystone XL project by the Premier of Alberta but also the promise of higher tariffs on Canadian goods and services by the Trump Administration.
Odd place to be, are we moving forward on reducing red tape on resources? Or should we prepare for massive tariffs and protectionism down south? What about the interim, before the new administration, what moves can be made between now and then?
Here we all thought that Q4s were for reflection and preparing for next year, now we might need to be preparing for the next 4 years depending on the industry you are in.
One thing is for sure, those with boxes of “Drill, baby, drill” hats in their garages are pleasantly optimistic again 😁

I have one of those rare “no hockey” weekends and a forecasted sunny 10c tomorrow. Going to mow the lawn one last time and maybe get out to the river for a few pans of reflection.
Have a good weekend all.
